RS-232 to RS-485 Converter with 5 pin Terminal Block

The EX-47901 RS-232 to RS-485 converter can be used for any PC, workstation or server with an RS-232 interface. It is equipped with a 9 pin female connector that you can connect directly to your RS-232 serial port. The EX-47901 converts unbalanced, full-duplex RS-232 signals into balanced half-duplex RS-485 signals. The RS-232 port is configured as a DCE port and has a DB9 female connector supporting pin 2 (TXD input), pin 3 (RXD output) and pin 5 (signal ground). The following pins are bridged: pin 7 (RTS) with pin 8 (CTS) and pin 6 (DSR) with pin 1 (CD) with pin 4 (DTR).

Interface: RS-232

• Signal: TxD, RxD, GND
• Loop Back Wiring: RTS to CTS, DTR to SDR and DCD

Interface: RS-422/485

• Two modes are selectable: 4-wire RS-422 (TXD+/-, RXD+/-, Half-duplex) / 2-wire RS-485 (Data+/-, Data+/-, Full-duplex)
• ATTATM: Supports RS-485 Auto Transceiver Turn Around Feature, Support Echo Mode for RS-485 mode
• Terminator: 4,5 KΩ
• Port-powered from RS-232 Lines, external power source supported, but not required in most cases
