The EX-47901 RS-232 to RS-485 converter can be used for any PC, workstation or server with an RS-232 interface. It is equipped with a 9 pin female connector that you can connect directly to your RS-232 serial port. The EX-47901 converts unbalanced, full-duplex RS-232 signals into balanced half-duplex RS-485 signals. The RS-232 port is configured as a DCE port and has a DB9 female connector supporting pin 2 (TXD input), pin 3 (RXD output) and pin 5 (signal ground). The following pins are bridged: pin 7 (RTS) with pin 8 (CTS) and pin 6 (DSR) with pin 1 (CD) with pin 4 (DTR).
